Grand Mosque, Louvre and Yas Island: what to know before you go
Abu Dhabi's three most popular visits, with what the official websites say about each one.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
According to the official Centre, construction began in 1996 and the mosque opened to worshippers in 2007. There are 82 domes and minarets of around 107 metres. It is a place of worship: wear modest clothing and follow the Centre's rules. Read more at Grand Mosque.
Louvre Abu Dhabi
The ticket gives access to the galleries, the exhibitions and the areas under the dome. The museum recommends booking in advance, and bags and backpacks, except small ones, go to the cloakroom. Read more at Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Yas Island
Access to the island is free; Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, Yas Waterworld and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi charge for tickets. Yas Bay and Yas Marina are public areas. Read more at Yas Island.
